Professor Karen Heard-Lauréote is an experienced higher education consultant and mentor with over 20 years of academic leadership experience. She has a strong research publication record and extensive expertise in PhD supervision, graduate and researcher development, mentoring doctoral candidates and early-career academics. As a former Faculty Research Degrees Committee Chair, she has deep knowledge of doctoral policies, regulations, and good practices in supervision.
A Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA) and National Teaching Fellow (NTF), Karen has supported researchers in securing fellowships, academic promotions, and career transitions. She is the founder and director of KHL Consulting Ltd. and a Visiting Professor at the University of Portsmouth.
